The Airline improvement District is dedicated to making our area a safer place to live and work. Because of this, our first priority after forming the District was to enter into a contract with the Harris County Sheriff’s Department for extra patrol services in our District. This contract began January 2nd, 2006 and is on-going. Additional patrol services were added January 2nd, 2007 to further increase security efforts in the community. Currently patrol services are the largest budgetary item for the District.

Proper upkeep of properties as well as visibility from law enforcement officers is crucial to crime prevention and economic revitalization in our area. The deputies that are part of the contract are dedicated solely to the District and spend their time pro-actively addressing potential issues as well as responding to calls within the District boundaries. All contract deputies are in marked Harris County Sheriff’s department vehicles. The current contract deputy program enhances the services that the area was already receiving through the Harris County Sheriff’s Department.
